Works from Mozart, Broadway and film will be featured during the orchestra’s spring concert.
The South Jersey Pops orchestra presents “Symphonic Festival” on May 20 at Lenape High School.
Guest vocalist Charlie Hannagan will join the region’s all volunteer, nonprofit orchestra, under the baton of Robert Bradshaw.
Selections in “Symphonic Festival” include Handel’s “Music for the Royal Fireworks,” which celebrates King George II’s declaration of peace in 1748; “To Life” from “Fiddler on the Roof”; John Williams’ triumphant “Throne Room” from “Star Wars: A New Hope”; “Topsy Turvy” from Disney’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame”; and classic works from Mozart and Brahms, among others.
Bradshaw, who was named music director in 2017, is founder and director of the Haddonfield School of Music. He has been directing musical ensembles for more than 15 years. Singer/musician/songwriter Charlie Hannagan hails from Wilmington, Del.
The South Jersey Pops presents “Symphonic Festival” at 3 p.m., May 20, 2018, at Lenape High School, 235 Hartford Road, Medford. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at www.southjerseypops.org. Children younger than 13 are free. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance.
