The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.
On Dec. 26 at 2:20 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Harwood Court for a disturbance. During the investigation, officers attempted to arrest a 39-year-old male resident. He resisted arrest by kicking and striking the officers. While he was being escorted to a patrol car he broke free from the officers and attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly apprehended. One officer received minor injuries to his arm and leg as a result of the assault. The man was charged with multiple offenses to include aggravated assault on police, resisting arrest and attempted escape. Bail was set at $45,000 with 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.
On Dec. 29 at 12:35 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Target on Centerton Road for a report of an employee stealing. The investigation revealed that an 18-year-old Target employee from Willingboro stole gift cards from the store valued at $550 between Dec. 23 and Dec. 28. She was arrested, charged with third degree theft and released pending a court hearing.
On Dec. 29 at 8:30 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to TJ Maxx on Centerton Road for a shoplifting complaint. The investigation revealed that a 50-year-old woman from Marlton stole a purse valued at $139.99. She was arrested, charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.
On Dec. 30 at 2:30 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle on Route 38 near Hartford Road. During the stop the driver provided a false identity to the officer in an attempt to avoid being arrested on outstanding warrants from several jurisdictions. The driver, a 24-year-old woman from Camden, was arrested and charged with hindering her own apprehension. Bail was set at $3,500 with no 10 percent option and she was committed to the Burlington County Work Release Center.
On Dec. 30 at 11:50 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to an erratic driver complaint on Mt. Laurel Road. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Mt. Laurel Road near Ethel Lawrence Boulevard. During the stop the driver, a 52-year-old female from Mount Laurel was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. She was later released pending a court hearing.
An employee of the Rodeway Inn on Route 73 reported a room window, valued at $500, was broken during the early morning hours of Jan. 1.
A guest of a hotel on the 900 block of Route 73 reported a wallet containing $1000 in cash and credit cards was taken from the bell closet on Jan. 1 between 5 and 7 p.m.
