Curtain Call Performing Arts Center’s Spotlight Performers win ‘Excellence in Music Award’ at Junior Theater Festival
Curtain Call Performing Arts Center’s Spotlight Performers were presented with the prestigious Freddie G Excellence in Music Award on Saturday, Jan. 16 for outstanding Musical Theatre vocal performance.
Curtain Call’s performers were recognized out of 115 groups from around the world at the annual Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, which is hosted by iTheatrics and sponsored by Disney Theatrical Group, Music Theatre International and Playbill.
The Freddie G Awards Ceremony has been a tradition within the Junior Theater Festival for the last 10 years. Produced by the Junior Theater Group and under the educational and artistic supervision of iTheatrics, the Junior Theater Festival (JTF) brings students, teachers and Broadway professionals together to celebrate outstanding student musical theater productions.
Additionally, two of the group’s students were awarded Junior Theater Festival ALL STARS and seven students were awarded golden tickets to audition for choreography DVD filming in New York City.
The Spotlight Performer’s are a select group of young singers, dancers and actors ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old from Mt. Laurel, Moorestown, Lumberton, Medford, Delran and Berlin.
Curtain Call Performing Arts Center is an educational theatre organization offering training in voice, dance, acting, musical theatre and readers theatre as well as producing up to six musicals a year.
