A new portion of Route 73 will be open starting on Friday as the State DOT moves into a new phase of construction on the massive circle removal project.
Township Manager Tom Czerniecki said that northbound traffic starting this Friday on Route 73 will be able to use the new northbound bridge that is being built.
Traffic will also be using the newly constructed ramp from Route 70 eastbound to Route 73 northbound. Also, traffic will be able to use the newly constructed ramp from Route 70 westbound to Route 73 northbound.
Czerniecki said that a “no lefthand turn” lane will be analyzed and possibly eliminated by the DOT after the project is completed. The lane is near the Starbucks property by the circle and has been a point of contention for many motorists in Evesham Township.
This is the third phase of construction for the elimination of the Marlton circle. The DOT is actually ahead of schedule for the entire project.
