Rowan College at Burlington County Workforce Development Institute to provide free career training for women

Women interested in a new career path in energy or construction fields can be eligible for free training provided by a partnership of leading utility companies and the new Rowan College at Burlington County Workforce Development Institute.

Women in Sustainable Employment (WISE) will provide women a weeklong, 32-hour training course in nontraditional employment opportunities available in energy and construction industries. Some of the positions include mechanic, plant operator, dispatcher and meterperson. This program has provided a new job to one in three women who participated in previous sessions.

The program will be held at Rowan College at Burlington County in Evans Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 through Friday, Oct. 6.

Information sessions will be held:

— Thursday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m., Mt. Laurel Campus, Laurel Hall, Room 305

— Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10 a.m., Willingboro Center, Room 216

— Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m., Willingboro Center, Room 216

— Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., Willingboro Center, Room 216

— Friday, Sept. 9 at 9:30 a.m., Pemberton Campus, Parker Center, Room 321

— Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m., Mt. Laurel Campus, Laurel Hall, Room 305
