Harrison rebrands Mullica Hill’s Main Street

The township wants to increase the Mullica Hill street’s appeal as a place for businesses and community events.

Harrison Township has announced an effort to unify Main Street with a new branding initiative it hopes will increase the downtown area’s appeal to the region.

The Main Street Brings You Back plan aims to spotlight the 18th-century history of small-town roots in both the area and in Mullica Hill. The move will affect small businesses and yearly events on Main such as the Sip, Savor and Social, the asparagus festival and Lights on Main.

“This new branding is a critical step in supporting our local businesses and attracting new ventures to Main Street,” said Harrison Mayor Louis Manzo. “We have always been a place where history comes to life, but it’s also a vibrant community where something exciting is always happening.”

The initiative has a website, mainstmh.com, that offers visitors a look at what residents can expect from the new branding. The site features a history of the street, an explore page and a “meet mercants” page identifying businesses and events and news pages.

There is only one business listed so far, but more will be added. The website also offers the following greeting to residents: “A taste of tradition with dining, drinking, shopping and events in New Jersey’s scenic southern farmlands, Main Street, Mullica Hill keeps you coming back, because it continues to take you back.

“Enjoy a stroll preserved in time and a street dotted with locally owned restaurants, bars, sweet eateries, unique shops, arts, antiques and nearby wineries.”

The township wants to further the initiative by promoting it on its social media pages, through community events and with local and regional advertising to attract more visitors to Mullica Hill and boost the local economy by promoting local businesses.

“The goal is to solidify Main Street as a destination where visitors can experience the best of both worlds: a walk-through history and a taste of what’s happening now,” Manzo explained. “This initiative will help us share that story more effectively with a broader audience, strengthening our community and helping our local economy thrive.”
