The trio ran for the board of education seats unopposed. Saidel will take over the seat currently held by board member Colleen Horiates, who did not seek reelection.

In other area elections, Democratic incumbent Cory Booker won reelection for his U.S. Senate seat over Republican candidate Jeff Bell.

In the House of Representatives first district election, Democrat Donald Norcross defeated Republican nominee Garry Cobb. Norcross won 59.46 percent of the vote compared to Cobb’s 36.97 percent.

Camden Board of Freeholder Democratic incumbents Louis Cappelli Jr. and Scott McCray also won reelection. The pair defeated Republican nominees Teddy Liddell and Kimone Smith. Cappelli and McCray combined for 62.9 percent of the vote.

The unofficial results do not include mail-in or provisional ballots.
