The 16U Senior League baseball team won the New Jersey Championship for the second consecutive year.

Cherry Hill council honored three groups of residents for athletic performance this month: the 16U Senior League Baseball Team, which won the league’s state championships for the second consecutive year; the Erlton Swim Club, winner of the 64th annual Cherry Bowl; and the Cherry Hill Swim Club, who won first place in their respective events at the 67th annual Burt German Championships Tri-County 2024.

“The hard work dedication sportsmanship, talent and exceptional team chemistry of the 16U seniors enabled these athletes to win the senior league New Jersey championship for the second year in a row,” said Councilwoman Michele Golkow.

During the meeting, council also approved an ordinance on second reading that amends a zoning ordinance allowing for a potential agricultural use at the Holly Ravine Farm property on Evesham Road,

“The preservation of Holly Ravine Farm – as well as other open spaces like the former Kingston Swim Club property – are major wins for the people of Cherry Hill, and I’m grateful for township’s support and the support of our residents to move our efforts in this area forward,” said Mayor David Fleisher.

He emphasized that the vision for Holly Ravine is to make the property accessible to the public for passive enjoyment, whether agriculture is a part of its future or not. The township is considering all available methods to ensure fiscal responsibility.
