Cherry Hill author captivates local children with first book

Cherry Hill resident Lori Samlin Miller has always had a love for reading and storytelling. In September, her first published children’s book, “Stay Where I Can See You,” was released on Amazon. Since the book’s release, Miller has spent a good portion of her time reading her book to dozens of children in schools around the Philadelphia region.

Cherry Hill native teaches his way to the top

Cherry Hill native Eric O’Neill, a social studies teacher and boys swimming head coach at Shawnee High School, has spent most his adult life furthering his education and dedicating his career to bettering his students. His efforts were rewarded in December when O’Neill was named Shawnee High School Teacher of the Year.

Cherry Hill resident returns to game show stage on Jeopardy!

Cherry Hill registered nurse Mary Caruso’s appearance on the Jan. 16 episode of Jeopardy! wasn’t the first time she had appeared on a game show. Caruso had previously been a three-time undefeated champion on the game show, Wheel of Fortune. Competing on Jeopardy! for the first, Caruso finished with a score of $13,950.

Perseverance helps Cherry Hill East boys swimming seniors earn key roles

Cherry Hill High School East boys swimming seniors Christian Termine and Ethan Staiman know the meaning of hard work. Both swimmers failed to make the team as freshman. They would use this experience to motivate themselves to become better in the pool. Today, both seniors aren’t just on the team, they are key performers for the Cougars.

Cherry Hill women attend Women’s March on Washington

Prior to the Women’s March on Washington, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Jan. 21, two Cherry Hill women spoke to The Sun about why they felt compelled to attend. Donna Newtognano and Carole Roskoph were just two of the many people in attendance on Saturday and spoke about the changing political climate and why they decided to make their voices heard.
