Union Fire Company mourns late firefighter

Union Fire Company mourns the loss of former firefighter Jim Bresch. Jim joined Union Fire Company on Tuesday July 8, 1969 and served as a firefighter for 10 years. Jim joined the U.S. Navy on Oct. 15, 1970, and served for five years during the Vietnam War. 

Jim was a Meteorologist on the USS Constellation in the South China Sea and attained the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. Jim earned the National Service Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Award Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Distinguished Service Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation Medal and the Gallantry Cross.

Jim was an impeccable dresser and will most be remembered for his pleasant demeanor, laid back personality and those great custom vans in the late 70s and early 80s. Jim worked at Sony Records in Pitman and then was a dealer and pit boss at the Casinos in Atlantic City and later in Florida. Services are private.
