Cinnaminson center offers exercise, dancing and Bingo

Senior citizens in Cinnaminson are being welcomed to the Community Center on Manor Road for Bingo and other activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Exercise class on both days is 10 a.m., and from 10:30 to 11:30, there is line dancing with an instructor who chooses different dances each week and welcomes beginners.

At least 10 residents come out each Tuesday at 1 p.m. to play rummy que, where a player picks 14 tiles and must make an initial meld of 50 points in one or more sets. Bingo takes place on both Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 3 p.m.

County seniors can get outdoors on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 2 to 3:30 p.m., as part of the Rancocas Nature Center’s Young at Heart senior adult series. The facility – at 794 Rancocas-Mt. Holly roads in Westampton – welcomes those 55 and over.

Participants also get to meet center animals and learn about plants, trees and other diverse fauna. Each session focuses on a different animal with live demonstrations that are 30 to 45 minutes long. There is no cost, but donations to the center are accepted.

Another chance for senior citizens to get is the senior expo on Wednesday, June 14, sponsored by the board of commissioners, the sheriff’s office and the state board of health and open to residents of all ages.

Offerings will include free health screenings, shredding of documents, meetings with pets and information about the many services offered by the county, other government agencies and community providers, according to county spokesperson David Levinsky.

This year’s expo is the 21st in Cinnaminson, and the first since pre-COVID 2019. It will be held at the Masonic Village Fellowship Center, 1114 Oxmead Road, Burlington Township.
