New resolution focuses on public participation

At the Jan. 2 reorganization meeting, the Mantua Township Committee introduced a new resolution that laid the ground rules for public participation during committee meetings. It comes as a result of recent meetings becoming heated.

Major points of the resolution focus on setting a strict five-minute time limit for each person participating in the public portion of the meetings, stating that people cannot debate with committee members unless permitted by the mayor and keeping things calm and nondisruptive for others.
