Hundreds of “Cobra Kai” fans gathered at the Deptford Mall on Jan. 8 to meet actress Peyton List at an exclusive meet-and-greet event.

Local fans of the Netflix series were able to meet List in the court outside of Macy’s at the mall. List plays mean girl Tory Nichols in the “Karate Kid” spinoff.

“We are excited to welcome Peyton List to Deptford Mall and offer our guests an exciting meet-and-greet opportunity with such a well-known American actress and singer,” said Lori L. Belsito, senior marketing manager at the mall.

List also played Emma Ross on the Disney Channel series “Jessie’ and its spinoff “Bunk’d.”

Autographs at the event were $50 and a photo opportunity with List was $70. Fans could bring their own photos for autographs or choose from the printed photo selection for purchase. The images ranged from “Cobra Kai” scenes to head shots of List, who, like her fans, was required to wear a mask.

Asked about the preparation for her “Cobra Kai” role, List disclosed that all of the cast, including herself, had to learn karate.

“We have to do our own stunts, but we have stunt doubles, too,” she said.

List was also promoting her new beauty brand, Pley Beauty, at the mall event. The brand, which has yet to launch its first round of makeup products, introduces a “playful side” of clean beauty to the industry. List wore her new eye beauty products for the meet and greet.

Both Deptford Mall security and Deptford police oversaw the proceedings. According to mall security, approximately 300 people were registered for the event, not including the dozens of spectators around the court.

The next celebrity guest appearance at the Deptford Mall is for 76ers’ fans: Tyrese Maxey will attend a team family fun night on Friday, Jan. 28, at 5:30 p.m.
