Gloucester County and its United Way branch, as well as Rowan College of South Jersey, welcomed the inaugural class of Lead Gloucester County (Lead GC) last month.
The comprehensive certificate course is meant to develop a pool of skilled and resourceful individuals who will be positioned to serve as business and community leaders in the county. The inaugural class is comprised of 20 individualso who represent corporate, business, government and nonprofits.
The inaugural program is sponsored by Acenda Integrated Health, Columbia Bank, Jefferson Health New Jersey and PBF Energy, and coordinated and facilitated by United Way Executive Director Michael Gower and board members Joanne Connor and Claire Riggs, as well as Rowan Associate Vice President Candice Racite.
“Lead GC exists to educate, empower, engage and enhance the individual and collective capabilities of our next-generation leaders to advance their careers and to foster progress and prosperity in our county,” Gower said. “With many of our businesses, corporations, and nonprofit organizations facing succession challenges, this program seeks to create well-informed and empathetic leaders who are ready to fill open roles.”
