Two people in separate vehicles had to be extracted from their cars on Jan. 16 after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 42 north, near the Route 41 exit. Emergency crews used battery-powered rescue equipment to free one passenger and cut through some small trees with chainsaws to access the second. No serious injuries were reported.
