The Burlington County Clerk’s Office certified general election results on Nov. 22.
Democratic incumbent Mayor Gina Ragomo Tait faced former mayor and Republican challenger Michelle Arnold for a four-year mayoral position in the Nov. 7 election.
Tait garnered 1,128 votes over Arnold, who received 707 votes. There were seven personal choice votes.
Ahead of the general election, we asked candidates why they were running for an elected seat and what they would like to concentrate on as an elected official.
Tait will begin her second term when the council reorganizes in January.
Why are you running for an elected seat?
I have always been involved within the community and feel that I have more to give and to help our residents.
What is one area you would like to concentrate on if elected?
The area that has taken a lot of our time is the redevelopment area of Route 73 and I would like to carry on to make it the best it can be.
