Washington Township Police Department Hosts Christmas in July Luncheon

On July 24, the Washington Township Senior Center members were treated to a Christmas in July barbecue luncheon courtesy of the Washington Township Police Department (WTPD). There was also live music, Variety Show by John Monforto. The Township Council and I would like to thank Chief Pat Gurcsik, his assistant Cathy Fiorile, Washington Township Director of Senior Programs Lori Morello, WTPD, my administration staff for their hard work and Charlie Chiango of Egizi Funeral Home for sponsoring the lunch. Thank you to Aversa’s bakery for donating the sheet cakes. Special thank you to the local businesses who contributed to all the gift baskets. I would especially like to thank the Washinton Township police officers who lent a hand grilling and serving food to our seniors. What a fun filled event with a special guest appearance from Santa. Each senior was handed free tickets prior arrival for raffle tickets and a Christmas door prize. I’m looking forward to next year to celebrate again.

Coffee with the Mayor

I would like to remind all residents of Washington Township that I am continuing to hold Coffee with the Mayor meetings every third Thursday of the month. The purpose of these meetings is for residents to meet with me in a more personal setting to discuss ways that we can improve Washington Township. If you are interested in meeting with me, you may contact my assistant, Suzie Barone at (856) 589-0575 or at [email protected]. These meetings are by appointment only. You must contact Suzie and send her a maximum of two questions for us to discuss together, the Monday before the meeting.

Events in the Park:

I would like to take this opportunity to announce some upcoming events in Washington Lake Park. As many of you may know, we have been hosting Movies in the Park and Concerts in the Park during the summer months. There are still more movies and concerts scheduled so make sure you check the Township website under the Events tab. For more information on all of our other township events, visit our website at www.TownshipNJ.com. I look forward to seeing everyone at the park for these fun-filled events!
