Deptford’s Tacoma Fire Company celebrates 100th anniversary

On June 23, 2023 the membership, past and present, gathered at the Valley Brook Country Club to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Tacoma Fire Company. Exactly 100 years ago on June 23, 1923; 13 men of the Westville Grove community formed the Tacoma Fire Company. The celebration included speeches and proclamations from the Deptford Mayor and Council, The Gloucester County Board of Commissioners and the Deptford Board of Fire Commissioners. The Helping Hand Fire Company also presented a plaque to the fire company.

After the awards and speeches, the past and present members and guests enjoyed a fine meal and entertainment. Members of the Tacoma Fire Company were presented with Active Membership certificates. Kathy Andaloro, wife of the past Chaplain Sam Andaloro was presented with a plaque and the Tacoma Fire Company Chaplain Badge to honor her late husband who served as the fire company Chaplain for over 30 years. Ed Mungiole was presented with a Service Award for being the Tacoma Fire Company Treasurer for over 30 years. A job well done by all.
