Harrison Township has launched a newly updated website with a fresh look and features that will help ease accessibility for browsers.

The website launched on May 18 and was months in the making, a process completed by the township in a partnership with municipal employees and CommUnity Partners.

“The township has been working on our new website for quite a while,” said Deputy Mayor Julie DeLaurentis. “One issue that has consistently been brought to our attention is the challenge with navigating the old site and finding the information that both visitors and residents are looking for. With the new website, that will no longer be an issue.

“We now have a blue-ribbon website which reflects our wonderful community.”

Website users will note a new look and a drop-down menu that features links to    the township’s departments and services, including its leaders, community statistics, news and announcements, trash and recycling and tax payments.

“The website’s navigation has been streamlined and made much more intuitive,” DeLaurentis explained. “Residents and visitors can focus on the important, most sought-after content, using a well-defined drop-down menu.”

In addition to its regular lists of committee and board meetings, the site’s   township calendar adds local events with more descriptive information and a message from Mayor Louis Manzo.

“Welcome to Harrison Township,” Manzo’s message reads. “Our historic, small-town charm, award-winning schools and community spirit are just a few reasons we are one of the best places to live and raise a family in New Jersey,” he noted.

“We invite visitors to join us on our thriving Main Street and to our many fun events.”

Community feedback on the website has been positive, according to DeLaurentis. Residents have cited improved navigation and an overall look that captures the “historical beauty” of Mullica Hill.

“Current residents and business owners have expressed a sense of pride,” said DeLaurentis. “We’ve woven graphics and images into the website to give visitors who may want to live or do business in Harrison Township a true feel for our premiere South Jersey community.”
