On May 10, the Deptford Free Public Library’s annual National Poetry Month Awards was held at the Deptford Community Center. One student from each grade, pre-k through 12, was chosen for the original poem they wrote in April. Thank you to Library Board President Dina Zawadski, Mayor Paul Medany, the township council, the library board of trustees, Deptford Township School District and the Deptford Education Association for making this event possible, and to the many students who participated; as always, the quality of entries was so high that it was difficult to choose the winners.
