The latest topic is exploring the element of rhetoric. Using the book “A Poet’s Guide to Poetry,” participants will examine a variety of sampled works and learn how to handle the treatment of a poem’s speaker to intensify its accuracy. The event takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and is most suitable for students in grades nine to 12. It will be led by teen library volunteer Grant Yoon.

Attendees are encouraged to submit poems of their own or others with this link: https://forms.gle/aiKc3ry4GBUNgr2c9. After reviewing sampled poems, workshop participants can ask questions, discuss experiences with poetry or just listen.

Attendance is limited and requires registration at chplnj.org.
