South Jersey NOW Alice Paul Chapter holds monthly meeting

Anita Powell will be leading the South Jersey NOW’s next meeting on March 8. The topic is “Keep Your Bias in Check and Identify Unconscious Bias.”

The South Jersey NOW Alice Paul Chapter will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 8. 

Social time will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting program, “Keep Your BIas in Check and Identify Unconscious Bias,” will begin at 8:30, presented by attorney and motivational speaker Anita D. Powell, who  founded the Employee and Labor Relations Academy (ELRA) after 22 years in the private sector as a senior executive in employment law, human resources operations and labor relations. Her domestic and global experience includes work at large Fortune 100 companies such as Merck and Comcast.

Powell holds a bachelor’s in engineering from Hampton University, as well as an Employment and Labor Law (J.D.) degree from Temple University. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Liberty University studying Industrial and organizational psychology. She is also a certified mediator, corporate trainer, and member of the NJ State Bar Association.

Powell runs the JWP Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating homelessness and food insecurity, and has authored the book “No Room to Receive: Daily Affirmations of Abundance  for Living a Life of Purpose and Prosperity.”
