The election season is often tense and filled with rancor, from negative campaign ads during the World Series to contentious comments on local social media. Moorestown has a chapter of Braver Angels, a National bi-partisan organization that is working to depolarize America and help people gain understanding of each other’s viewpoints through civil and thoughtful conversation. We believe that people can disagree without being disagreeable, and that we should not lose connections with family, friends and neighbors based upon our voting preferences.
Braver Angels is partnering with the Moorestown Library to host a workshop called Family and Politics scheduled for Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bring a brown bag dinner and learn how to remove some of the tension when talking to relatives and friends about politics this upcoming holiday season. We’ll practice skills for meaningful conversations, and we’ll also laugh and have some fun.
