Reminder: School referendum on Nov. 8 ballot

The Nov. 8 General Election will include a question of local importance for Mantua Township residents.

Voters will be asked whether to approve Clearview Regional High School District’s proposal to fund large-scale building projects through bond borrowing. The district could access $23 million in state aid toward the $59 million in project costs, but only if the referendum passes.

The proposal would continue the current tax rate because the district’s last significant investment will be paid off in early 2023.

Most of the work would address critical building needs such as HVAC work to improve comfort and air quality, as well as correct a climate imbalance in the buildings. Clearview also proposes security enhancements, synthetic turf, a Middle School STEM Lab, and auditorium improvements, among other projects.
