Clearview Regional High School District will assemble a panel of experts for an interactive bond referendum event on Oct. 18. The event is being held three weeks before the proposal appears on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.
All Mantua and Harrison Township residents are encouraged to join the Virtual Town Hall on Oct. 18 between 6-7:30 p.m. using the link meet.google.com/kdp-eube-qkn.
The Town Hall offers community members the chance to ask questions of the district’s architect, financial advisers, teachers in key referendum areas, and other staff members. The panelists also will each provide an overview of their topic of expertise.
Superintendent John Horchak III will moderate the Town Hall as community members are invited to submit questions through [email protected]. The questions will be funneled to the appropriate panelist.
The Town Hall is designed for convenience so community members can tune in for the segments of their choice. The event also will be recorded and available on the bond referendum website at clearviewregional.edu/future.
The schedule is:
6:00-6:10 Introduction
6:10-6:25 Project Overview
6:25-6:35 Safety and Security
6:35-6:50 STEM and Auditorium
6:50-7:05 Turf and Athletic Facilities
7:05-7:20 Funding Strategy
7:20-7:30 Additional Questions
Clearview has informed voters about the bond referendum in multiple ways, including the website, posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; meet-and-greets at school events, postcards and flyers.
The Town Hall is a unique opportunity to hear from those with the most knowledge of the proposal to fund $59 million in improvements with no increase to the tax rate. State aid would provide $23 million toward those upgrades with a voter-approved referendum.
Community members can vote by mail, participate in early voting at select locations from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6, or cast their ballot at their usual polling place on Nov. 8. Much more information about voting, projects and frequently asked questions can be found at clearviewregional.edu/future.
