Deptford Township will host its second Family Fun Show of the year Thursday in Fasola Park.

The show will have kids in mind, but families will find activities at the park’s pavilion. Other nearby towns like Mantua have worked with Gloucester County to organize similar events for residents and their families in their respective parks.

“It’s an event we work with in conjunction with the county,” said Deptford Mayor Paul Medany. “It will have all kinds of activities for the kids.”

Entertainment will be provided by Kid’s Fun Magic. Its host is magician Mr. D, who has more than 30 years of experience, according to Currier’s Magical Mania LLC website.

He has worked across the tri-state area with his show, which includes comedy, music and audience participation. Mr. D also provides entertainment for corporate events, birthday parties, schools and bar and bat mitzvahs.

Currier’s Magical Mania LLC is an entertainment service company that provides a variety of different activities for kids and families in the New Jersey and tri-state areas. Besides magic, it offers musical performances and other activities, all with the intent of helping kids learn more about the world around them in entertaining ways.

The Family Fun Show is free and open to the public, with no registration cost. It will be the last one this year given that kids will go back to school next month. But the event as a whole, according to Medany, has been going on for more than a decade.

The township expects to hold similar events next summer, with acts on tap that have yet to be determined.

The Family fun show hours will begin at 10:30 a.m. It is recommended that kids be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, look for updates on the Deptford or Gloucester County website.
