Construction is expected to be complete by September

The Clearview Youth Football and Cheerleading Facebook page has announced   the smooth, ongoing construction of a new concession stand at the sports field near the township’s Pleasant Valley School.

The stand is being built specifically next to the parking lot and playgrounds closest to Walters Road, according to David Hoos, director of communications and community relations for CYFC.

Construction began mid-May, and the township told us that they hope to have it completed at some point during our season, if not before our first home game,” added Hoos. The first home game at the field will be Sept. 24.

The concession idea was not new, but work has been delayed by a couple of years because of COVID.

This building will serve Clearview youth football, cheerleading and lacrosse,” said Hoos. “The concession stand will be serving food made in a sanitary facility with better equipment, allowing us to have a wider range of better-quality menu items, as well as provide us an access point for internet service and POS (Point of Sale) systems.”

The stand will also be a place where equipment can be stored, including sensitive items like helmets and shoulder pads. Bathrooms will replace Port a Potties, resulting in improved sanitary conditions.

Whenever the concession stand is finished being built and opened to the public, it seems like members of the CYFC and the families of those with even a passing association with it will be more comfortable at games and be able to enjoy them more than before.

The first game of CYFC’s season is Sept. 11 at Woodstown, with the first home game slated for Sept. 24 against Camden. Games on the 11th will be for freshmen (ages 6 and 7), who will play beginning at noon; sophomores (ages 8 and 9) will start at 2 p.m.; juniors (ages 10 and 11) will begin at 4 p.m.; and seniors (ages 12 to 14) will start at 7 p.m.

Games for all divisions on the 24th will begin an hour later than the previous two games.
