The 3rd Annual International Soulful Yoga Day (ISYD), June 18, is a family affair with an offering of freedom, love, and soul. Karen Taylor Bass is partnering with the Cherry Hill African American Civic Association (CHAACA) to present Soulful Yoga and Meditation for all ages at 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Croft Farm in Cherry Hill, NJ.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a parade and other activities happening.
ISYD is the brainchild of former award-winning PR Executive Karen Taylor Bass (https://karentaylorbass.com), turned Wellness instructor, Reiki and Yoga (RYT-200) certified, Meditation coach, and health advocate.
“I wanted to bring together the community to breathe, release, heal, and feel. We need a safe space to feel good, move, dialogue, and honor the body. All that is needed is your mat, water, good vibes,” says Taylor Bass.
Soulful Yoga is a movement dedicated to self-care and soul-care, the importance of learning to put oneself first for preservation and mental wellness.
“In 2020, when I offered Soulful Yoga during the pandemic for 1-day on Zoom, we had 140+ registrants from New York to London. It was humbling and honest – Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) were under siege, and the event gave them a glimpse of release from daily trauma, not to mention the need for movement,” Taylor Bass added. “Movement connects the mind, body, and soul. I wanted to create an offering to give people a sampling of expression through soul-care.
“If I can provide one hour, one day, a few minutes of relaxation via conversation, laughter, and healing to communities via Zoom and in-person interaction, then that is what I will do.”
Taylor Bass has been featured in several media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post, Dr. Oz, WDAS-FM, Fox News, NBC Today, and Real Health magazine.
