Janice Caccuro, Tara Banasz selected to run in this year’s race.

The Moorestown Republican Municipal Committee (MRMC) has unanimously voted to endorse Janice Caccuro and Tara Banasz for Moorestown Town Council in 2022.

“Following a rigorous and open screening process, we are excited to announce such qualified, passionate and energetic leaders as our candidates this year,” said Jamie Boren, Chair of the 2022 Screening Committee. “With deep roots in our community, impressive private sector experience, involvement as active moms and a passion to make Moorestown an even better place to call home, Janice and Tara are ready to get to work for our residents on day one.”

“Moorestown deserves a Town Hall that is proactive and recognizes the need to keep our town the best place to live in America, and we’ve identified two stellar candidates who will do just that,” MRMC Chairman Doug Maute said. “Janice Caccuro and Tara Banasz will deliver leadership that listens and I can’t wait to see them hit the campaign trail to share their vision for affordability, transparency and good government.”

The MRMC is comprised of 40 Republican local representatives, a male and a female committee person elected for each election district in Moorestown.  Please visit www.moorestownrepublicans.com or www.facebook.com/moorestownrepublicans to get involved or to request more information.

About the candidates:

Janice Caccuro moved to Moorestown with her family when she was a year old and has always been in love with the town’s small town feel and sense of community.

After graduating Moorestown High School, Janice earned her degree from Princeton University and went on to earn a master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Rutgers University Camden.

With a successful career as a lawyer and president of a property management group, Janice has extensive experience in community affairs and an in-depth knowledge of the complex issues facing our town.

Janice has volunteered her time on several committees with the Moorestown Youth Football Association and the Moorestown Lacrosse Club, Registrar of the Moorestown Lacrosse Festival and as a Board Member with the Pheasant Run Swim Club. Janice has been an active parent in Moorestown schools, serving over the years as Room Parent, Field Day volunteer and Chair of the Baker School Book Fair.

Janice is married to her husband, Frank, and is the proud mom of three awesome boys – Caden (14), Cole (12), and Gavin (11).

A product of Moorestown Township schools, Tara Banasz grew up in Moorestown and knew it would always be the place she would want to call home with a family of her own following her graduation from St. Joseph’s University.

Professionally, Tara helps people in our region find employment and set out on new chapters in their American Dream story, giving her the interpersonal and human relations skills needed to be a hands-on public official.

Tara spends her free time volunteering and giving back to our community. She currently serves on the Board for the Moorestown Lacrosse Club, is Chairperson of the Moorestown Dance Assembly, is a member of the Moorestown Field Club and was elected vice president of the Our Lady of Good Counsel PTA.

A proud wife of a U.S. Marine (Jeff), Tara’s favorite role is that of mom to her three great kids – J.T. (15), Carter (13), and Brooke (9).
