The Boys and Girls Clubs of Gloucester County (BGCGC) celebrated the launch of its teen workforce program partnership with TD SYNNEX on Thursday, March 10 at 3:30 p.m. at TD SYNNEX in Swedesboro. The launch was in celebration of the BGCGC Club members’ first day working at TD SYNNEX.

The BGCGC’s teen workforce program is in partnership with TD SYNNEX and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast (Florida). Through this exciting partnership, teen club members in Gloucester County will receive:

  • A paid working opportunity- for some of them their first paid job
  • A college or trade school scholarship at the completion of one year in the program
  • Hands-on experience in technology as well warehouse packing
  • Mentoring by leaders in the industry

“This partnership is an opportunity to provide our local youth with the necessary skills needed to complete tasks required of an employer,” BGCGC CEO Patti Withington, said. “This also sets the stage for our youth to become valuable employees in the workplace while also working towards their career dreams. It will be exciting to watch these youth grow throughout this internship opportunity.”

This event featured speakers, a presentation to the teen club members, and a tour of the TD SYNNEX site. Guest speakers included Gloucester County Commissioner Heather Simmons, representatives from the BGCGC and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast, TD SYNNEX, and other community leaders.
