Looking for St. Patrick’s Day plans? Look no further: Good Day for a Run will host the annual Lucky Run at Bogey’s event on Saturday, March 13, starting at 10 a.m.
Located at 501 Pitman Road in Sewell, Bogey’s will utilize its new Pitman Golf Course for the run.
“[Good Day for a Run] approached us a year or so ago when they were looking for a new location,” Bogey’s owner Al Bartolomeo said. “And we had our new beer garden area newly done and we wanted to lend ourselves to their cause and simultaneously get some exposure to the new space that was just built.
“They’re a good group,” he added of God Day For a Run, an event planning company. “And they’re a good demographic for our company.”
Planners of the 5K race encourage runners to dress for the holiday upon arrival, and they can participate in a best-dressed competition. There will be instant results and awards for winners of the race, and walkers are welcome.
“This demographic of runners and families are definitely in our wheelhouse of audience,” Bartolomeo said. Bogey’s will provide a Guinness or domestic beer for each registered guest as well as some Irish grub at the post-run party. Live bagpipes, door prizes, trivia and themed merchandise will keep guests entertained.
Alongside the new golf course, there will be more Bogey’s upgrades in time for the run.
“Everyone’s motivated by big, open space, and now we put some outdoor amenities,” Bartolomeo said. “We’re actually building a brand new outdoor-dining experience at the back of the restaurant, so that’s coming in the spring.”
