On Friday, Jan. 28, the Deptford Rotary Club celebrated its 50th chartering year of membership at Four Star Catering in Deptford, N.J. The party was supported with over 100 guests and government proclamations/certificates from Gloucester County, Deptford Township and Woodbury.

Entertainment was provided from the Goodfellas group, and many sponsors donated their efforts in support of the rotary mission of “Service Above Self.” Those included:

  • Presidential Sponsor SERVPRO of Woodbury/Deptford
  • Diamond Sponsor Boucher Funeral Home
  • Ruby Sponsor ODIN Technologies
  • Ruby Sponsor Ray Kratz, AllState Insurance
  • Ruby Sponsor Kim Nolan, Columbia Bank of Deptford

The Deptford Rotary Club was chartered on April 1, 1971 by an original 20 charter members and was originally a satellite club of the Woodbury Rotary. Since then, the club has grown to as high as 75 members and as low as just under 10, but through trial and tribulation (and a little Deptford pride) has come out successful nonetheless.

Currently with just over 30 members for its 50th birthday, the Deptford Rotary Club prides itself on fulfilling the Rotary International mission of “Service Above Self.” It completes this vision by executing upon various projects through the greater Deptford area, including most of Gloucester county, to support the local community and benefit the greater common good.

Those interested in membership may submit a new membership form on the club’s website: deptfordnjrotaryclub.org or by contacting President David Kryszczak at 856-443-2317.
