Rancocas Woods craft show to welcome more than 70 vendors

The free event is held monthly in Mount Laurel

Rancocas Woods will hold its monthly craft and antique outdoor show on Saturday, an event that was originally planned for August but postponed due to rain.

The show at 118 Creek Road in Mt. Laurel will feature more than 70 local vendors selling handmade, vintage and antique goods from a variety of styles and backgrounds. The event is free and open to the public; hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“What started as a little show has now become a really large, awesome show full of arts, culture, music — all local talent,” said Rancocas Woods Event Manager Janeen Hovnanian, who puts together the event.

In her planning of every detail for the show, Hovnanian curates a variety of vendors. There are local clothing designers; pottery and ceramics; acrylic and resin products; vintage and antique jewelry; and customized tumblers and wine glasses with vinyl, to name just a few.

“Variety is really the key to our show,” Hovnanian said.

The event attracts a mix of both seasoned area vendors and people setting up for their first show. Hovnanian said the number of sellers has increased three-fold since last year, and includes some who got their starts during the COVID shutdown. Thanks to its large outdoor venue, the show did proceed last summer as other craft and antique events were forced to close due to indoor settings.

Saturday’s show will feature live music from Garry Ledford from 10 a.m. to noon and an open-mic portion. All performers are encouraged to attend: musicians, spoken word artists, comedians and others.

The craft shows are held on the fourth Saturday of the month from March to November, and the second Saturday of December.

“We get a really, really great crowd. We’re sort of the local thing to do,” Hovnanian said.

Being able to support the local culture and artistic community is Hovnanian’s favorite part of the job.

“Just giving them a space to showcase their talents and bring home some money,” she noted. “It’s just such a great environment: positive, welcoming, all inclusive.”
