Deptford High School has announced it will be holding a drive thru, in-person graduation on Wednesday, June 17 at the Deptford Mall parking lot at 5 p.m.
The graduation is being conducted in coordination with Deptford Mayor Paul Medany, Deptford Township Police, the Deptford Mall and other agencies. It will abide by all guidelines in Executive Order 142 for drive thru gatherings.
According to details released by the school district, Deptford Police and volunteers will assist with the ceremony and parking. One vehicle will be permitted per graduate and the vehicle must fit in a standard parking space. Parking passes will be issued ahead of the ceremony and are required. Graduates will have an assigned parking space.
Graduates are asked to wear their cap and gown. All attendees must remain in their vehicle at all times with the windows up. When students names are read, vehicles will be directed around a loop to be recognized and then return to their original parking spot. Graduates will be permitted to roll down their window and wave at this part of the ceremony.
The ceremony will be streamed live at www.facebook.com/deptfordtwp for anyone who wishes to watch the ceremony remotely.
