The county released the following statement from Dr. Herb Conaway who chairs the Burlington County (novel) Coronavirus Task Force and is the director of the county Health Department.
“Burlington County will re-open parks on May 2 with certain restrictions in the interest of preventing the further spread of coronavirus disease,” Dr. Conaway.
“Residents utilizing our parks for passive recreation will be required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing rules. Park rangers are authorized to enforce rules to ensure public safety.”
Group activities remained banned per Gov. Phil Murphy’s social distancing mandates. Park facilities, playgrounds and pavilions will be closed.
Park goers are allowed to use walking trails and paths.
“In accordance with state guidelines, access to parking will be reduced by half,” Conway continued. “Please don’t throw caution to the wind as our path to a new normal will be marked by illness and death for some. Let’s continue to work together to limit the shared tragic effects of COVID-19.”
