Property tax grace period extended to June 1

The announcement was made during Gov. Phil Murphy's April 28 press briefing.

During his April 28 press briefing, Gov. Phil Murphy announced he will sign an executive order permitting municipalities to extend the grace period of May 1 property taxes to June 1.

The extension was granted due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and many property owners’ inability to pay taxes on time due to job losses or severe cuts in income.
