Local martial artist to be recognized

Jessie Bowen, a Cherry Hill resident and director of the American Martial Arts Alliance announced the release of his book the 2019 Edition of “AMAA Martial Arts Masters & Pioneers Autobiography Book.”

The induction ceremony, banquet and book release will be held on June 29 at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The event is expected to host more than 400 regional dignitaries and international martial arts celebrities with special guest appearances by award winning director/fight choreographer, author and martial artist, Art Camacho, as well as film star Cynthia Rothrock, UFC Hall of Famer Dan Severn and others.

The new edition has been redesigned to focus on assisting martial artists market themselves within their communities through the use of the autobiography book. More than 500 nominations have been received, but only 200 will be selected for this honor. The 2019 edition will feature five martial artists from each state who are considered legends in the art and sport, spanning the past 60 years. Joseph E. Mertz is one of the five martial artists from New Jersey featured.

“Many great Martial Artists have lost the chance to tell their life story,” Bowen said. “We are dedicated to preserving and sharing their extraordinary journeys with the world through the Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Masters & Pioneers Autobiography Book. Our book is a dream book for any martial artist wanting to learn about, as well as become a part of, the history and culture of the martial arts in America.”

The AMAA Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Book series is an autobiographical publication serving as a history book for today’s martial artists. Since its first publication in 2015, it has become one of the most recognizable martial arts titles worldwide and is an essential guide for learning the history of martial arts pioneers who have paved the way for today’s martial artists. The book is the first of its kind that combines a martial arts history book and directory all in one.

The 2019 AMAA Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Masters & Pioneers book will be available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Lulu and other book outlets.
