Rosa Middle Schooler spells her way to victory

Rosa Middle School’s Shruthika Padhy emerged from the Scripps National Spelling Bee finals as one of the competition’s co-champions.

For the first time in the Spelling Bee’s 94-year-history, eight co-champions were named during the 20th round of competition. Padhy  spelled the word “aiguillette” correctly during the final round.
