Just before 8 p.m. on April 17, officers were dispatched to an abandoned house in town where it was discovered that a male subject had died. Officers responded and confirmed the report and isolated the house until detectives could respond and
investigate, according to protocol.
Preliminary investigation revealed the male subject had gone into the house and appears to have died in his sleep. There is nothing suspicious about his death at this stage of the investigation.
Detectives from Mantua Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office responded as well as the medical examiner and paramedics from Inspira Hospital. Also assisting at the scene were members of the Mantua Township Fire Department.
