Earth Day
Now that spring is here, we can all enjoy the warmer weather and what Mother Earth has to offer, but sometimes Mother Earth needs some assistance. Deptford Township’s Earth Day Cleanup is here to help.
On Saturday, April 27, you can help make a difference by cleaning up your community.
Robert Ritterson, recreation director of Deptford Township, believes it very beneficial for the community and the people who live in it to come out to support each other.
“It cleans up Deptford Township. All the people that do volunteer obviously live in town, and they clean up various locations throughout. Some of the people that do come out, most neighborhoods have a park there, and we send them to those parks. It’s a great way to uplift and unify the community,” said Ritterson.
In previous years, they always have had people who are dedicated to helping out.
“We usually have a strong reception,” said Ritterson. “It unifies everyone, and everyone comes together.”
If you want to make a difference, you can go to the Deptford Municipal Building at 1011 Cooper St. Sign up starts at 8 a.m., and from there choose a cleanup location or a location will be assigned to you. A free T-shirt, refreshments and snacks will be provided. Gloves, safety vests and bags will also be provided.
