Pet Parade and Costume Contest taking place at Bret Harte school

This Cherry Hill Education Foundation sponsored event will take place on Saturday, April 13.

A pet parade and costume contest is taking place on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bret Harte Elementary School field, 1909 Queen Anne Road in Cherry Hill. The event is sponsored by the Cherry Hill Education Foundation and proceeds will benefit Cherry Hill schools.

All pets, real and stuffed, are welcomed to this event. There will be judging for a number of awards, including best dressed stuffed animal, best dressed small breed, best dressed large breed, best dressed owner and pet look-alike, best dressed float and best of show. Entrants are also encouraged to bring donations to benefit the Animal Welfare Association. A wish list can be found at www.awanj.org/wish-list. Pets must be kept under control at this event and owners must clean up after them. Bags for waste will be provided.

This event supports Julie Cohen and Kaelan Faria, who are dancing in the 2019 Dancing with the Cherry Hill Stars on Sunday, May 5. The event will also recognize Angela Choe from Bret Harte and Devin Levy from Woodcrest who will be participating in the One World Dancers performance.

Residents can sign up for early bird registration by April 2 via mail for $10 per pet. Registration the day of the event is $15. The rain date is Sunday, April 14. Participants can pay by check made payable to the Cherry Hill Education Foundation or cash.
