Cherry Hill High School East boys basketball will visit a familiar rival in the quarterfinals of the South Jersey Group 4 playoffs on Wednesday evening.
The №7 seeded Cougars will travel to №2 Cherokee on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game. Cherry Hill East reached the sectional quarterfinals after a 72–59 win over Vineland High School at home on Monday. Carl Gibson and Sam Serata led the team with 31 and 28 points, respectively, in the win.

In other first round action, Cherry Hill High School West girls basketball came up short in their first round game on Tuesday at Lacey High School. The Lions lost a tight game, 47–39. Alison Ahern scored a team-high 20 points in the loss.

Cherry Hill West boys basketball also had a long trip in round one as they traveled to Ocean City on Tuesday night. The Lions lost to Ocean City, 62–50. Hakim Melvin led Cherry Hill West in scoring with 17 points.
