Katherine Hartman writes that township is fortunate to have Gillespie and Donnelly running.
I have lived in Moorestown my entire life and have a business on Main Street. I believe we have smart and talented people living in town who volunteer their time to wonderful causes and projects from coaching sports, directing theatre and serving on committees. We all benefit from this service.
This year we are incredibly fortunate to have two township council candidates that are the most qualified I have ever seen run for local office. Their resumes would justify a run for federal office, yet they are dedicated to making Moorestown the best it can be.
Nicole Gillespie works on North Church Street at the Knowles Teacher Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to improving math and science education in the United States. In her role as the CEO, she oversees a staff of 25 employees and a $6.5 million annual budget. She graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in mechanical engineering and served as an active duty naval officer in cryptology for five years. After returning to civilian life, she earned an MS in physics from the University of Washington and a PhD in science education from the University of California, Berkeley.
Brian Donnelly is a 23-year veteran of the armed forces. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years. In 2009, he was commissioned as a Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Army Reserves where he led a team of investigators prosecuting terrorists under Iraqi law and continues to serve today.
Brian is an attorney who has not only a juris doctor, but also a Master of Laws in Taxation. He is the owner and principal of his own firm and acts as outside general counsel for both large corporations and small businesses. Additionally he is a recognized estate planning, trust, probate and guardianship attorney.
Nicole and Brian are talented experienced professionals with experience in finances and budget. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Nicole and Brian in the last several months and they are as pleasant as they are accomplished. They are just the people we need to get Moorestown out of $60 million of debt that we have taken on under Republican leadership and get us back on the right track!
