The Mantua Township Police Department released initial details about a deadly vehicle crash that happenend after 8 p.m. last night.
According to a brief statement released on social media, the accident occured on Route 45 in front of the old K-Mart store. So far, law enforcement believe a vehicle heading north driven by a 19-year-old male collided with a car exiting the old store parking lot; the driver of that car was a 16-year-old permit holder. A 24-year-old Mantua resident sat in the passenger seat and was pronounced dead on scene. The drivers were taken to Cooper Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mantua Police Department included this in the comment, “We are respecting the privacy of the families involved as this is a most difficult time in their lives. We ask that you also respect their privacy and do not post or comment any identifying information of those involved. Thank you.”
