Cherry Hill resident struck and killed by bus in Voorhees Town Center

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yesterday afternoon, an 86-year-old resident of Cherry Hill was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit Bus near Boscov’s in the Voorhees Town Center’s parking lot at approximately 1:41 p.m., according to police.

The Voorhees Police Department immediately responded to the incident. Patrol units rendered emergency care to the victim, who has been identified as Dolores Earley.

Earley was pronounced dead at the scene by the EMS.

The driver of the bus is working with the Voorhees Police Department in this ongoing investigation. The bus was towed and is currently being investigated for malfunctioning issues by the New Jersey State Police’s special transportation unit for heavy trucks, according to Captain Carmen Del Palazzo.

The police are in the process of obtaining the mall’s video surveillance for more evidence.
