CHPL announces One Book, One Cherry Hill

Participants will read Jamie Ford’s ‘Songs of Willow Frost’ to unite Cherry Hill community

The Cherry Hill Public Library is excited to announce the launch of One Book, One Cherry Hill.

One Book, One Cherry Hill is a community reading project to unite Cherry Hill Township in reading and discussing One Book. The selected book is Songs of Willow Frost by New York Times best-selling author Jamie Ford. This book tells the powerful story of a Chinese-American orphan and his search for his mother during the Great Depression.

The book is just the beginning. One Book, One Cherry Hill will explore Chinese and Chinese-American culture with events throughout September, October and November. The Cherry Hill Public Library will host cooking classes, book discussions, story times, lectures and more, culminating with a special Meet the Author event, when Jamie Ford visits the Library on Nov. 15.

One Book, One Cherry Hill is supported by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities and donations from the Friends of the Cherry Hill Library.

Stop by the library to check out a copy of Songs of Willow Frost. CHPL has copies of the book available in standard print, large print, audiobook and Overdrive e-book.
