Rotary fills backpacks for local students in need

The Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club filled 145 backpacks for Moorestown students in need.

The Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club packed 145 backpacks for students in need on Wednesday, Aug 23.

The Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club hosted an event Wednesday, Aug. 23 in which 145 backpacks were filled with school supplies for Moorestown students in need spanning kindergarden through eighth grade.

The backpacks were delivered on Thursday, Aug. 24 to Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development (MEND), and the school district. Those groups will then deliver the backpacks to those in need.

The total value of the supplies is $6,000, and every member of the Rotary Breakfast Club participated. This has been a Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club tradition for more than two decades helping more than 3,000 students.
