Marine Corps League No. 695 will be collecting for its annual ‘Toys for Tots’ program.
Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes has announced that the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Marine Corps League Detachment No. 695 are hosting a “Christmas in July” celebration at the Burlington County Farmers’ Market on Saturday, July 22.
“Every year, the Marine Corps League Detachment No. 695 from Burlington, collects new, unwrapped toys for their Toys for Tots toy drive to be distributed during the holidays,” Hughes said. “This free family-friendly event is a fun way to get into the holiday spirit early and support a good cause.”
According to the county, Santa will make a special guest appearance at 11:30 a.m., arriving in style, in a red convertible guided by his “reindeer” from the Warriors’ Watch Riders motorcycle group. Warriors’ Watch provides motorcycle escorts for military units returning from war, for units deploying, and for individual warriors coming home or going off.
The festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. Attendees can enjoy live music by Adelante or take part in a cooking demonstration at 10 a.m. with “Tea for All” to learn how to make Christmas Spiced Iced Tea Lattes.
“Visitors should be on the lookout for local vendors joining in on the festivities with unique holiday items as they browse the market’s seasonally fresh local fruits and veggies, baked goods and more,” Hughes said.
The Burlington County Farmers’ Market is located at 500 Centerton Road in Moorestown. The market is open 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Saturday through October. For a complete list of all vendors and upcoming programs visit: www.burlcoagcenter.com or call (856) 642–3850.
