Tuesday, May 16, the educational nonprofit “Steered Straight” will bring PHS parents some guidance on the challenges facing teenagers.
A “Steered Straight” presentation for parents will take place in the auditorium at Palmyra High School on Tuesday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
Steered Straight is a nonprofit educational and prevention organization advocating the importance of consequential thinking for kids and teens to understand that there are consequences to their action. Their programs address the “epidemic of drug overdoses,” and through cautionary stories, the organization works to be a catalyst for change in communities.
Steered Straight speakers also address the topics of school violence, gang recruitment, vandalism, bullying and teen drug and alcohol use.
There will be a random drawing at the presentation for a free prom ticket. Parents hoping to win a ticket for their son or daughter must be in attendance to qualify.
