Documentary to highlight Burlington County’s farming roots

The documentary “Rooted in Agriculture” will air on Thursday, May 11 at Burlington County Library in Westampton.

Burlington County Library in Westampton wil have Marisa Bozarth of the Burlington County Parks Department to present the documentary “Rooted in Agriculture” on Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Created by the Burlington County Division of Parks, “Rooted in Agriculture” focuses on the county’s agricultural history and documents cranberry growers, orchard keepers and typical county farming operations. Viewers will hear from longtime farmers Coles Roberts, Phil Prickett, Abbott Lee and other families who have been farming the land for generations.

Over the years, the Burlington County’s unique geography and geology enabled it to become a leader in cranberry, blueberry, tomato and dairy production. Today, the county is also recognized as a leader in the area of farmland preservation.

There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation.

The presentation is part of the library’s Community Stories program, which is a series of personal tales and life journeys from county residents.
